Pallikaridis was the last Cypriot EOKA fighter to be executed by the British authorities. He was hanged at Nicosia central prison on March 14th 1957.

The initiative for the statue was taken in 1997 by Agioi Thrimithia community’s youth union and Agioi Thrimithia’s Community Committee. 

On the wall next to Pallikaridis statue a plaque commemorates the listed as missing Loizos Chatziprokopiou (X’’Προκοπίου). 

The unveiling took place on March 14, 1999.
