The memorial was an initiative of the Reservist Commandos association and was commissioned by the Cypriot Archdiocese, the diocese of Pafos, the Municipalities of Pafos, Geroskipou and Pegea, and the Pafos’ district Reservist Commandos association. It is dedicated to the Cypriot and Greek dead and missing Commandos. The unveiling took place on April 13th 1997.
